Joshua Tree National Park is basically desert, but if you think that nothing could possibly survive in such a harsh and barren environment, you’d better think again. Joshua Tree National Park is bursting with life, particularly in the spring time, you might be surprised at how many plants, birds and animals call Joshua Tree National Park home, living alongside the Joshua Trees (see piccy), it really is their home I suppose.

Joshua Tree National Park comes into bloom late February, that’s when wildflower season really begins, but it goes on right through to April and May, when the Cacti flowers bloom. Spring is also a great time for the birds, you know, the birds and the bees and all that, and you can expect to see lots of summer visitors who drop by and visit the year-round residents.

Joshua Tree National Park is hot, well, it is a desert and has low humidity for most of the year. Summer days are hot, winter ones are cooler (it even snows sometimes on the higher ground), so be prepared to protect yourself from the sun, or wrap up and keep warm.

Did you see some of those colors!!! Wowee.

Did I mention the camping? No? Well, there’s great “get away from it all” camping . . .
