Does anybody have more National Parks than Theodore Roosevelt? I reckon not. It’s not just favoritism you know, he was a pretty remarkable chap by anybodies standards, and first visited this area at 24 years of age hoping to shoot a bison. It took him 10 days but he managed . . . So struck by this fantastic place was he, that before he left he had already entered a partnership about raising cattle on the Maltese Cross Ranch, and from then on, this was where Theodore Roosevelt regularly came to be a cowboy. Many years later he wrote “I would not have been President, had it not been for my experience in North Dakota”. No wonder the park was established in his honor, the only one of it’s kind.

So what about Theodore Roosevelt National Park today? What can you expect to see and do when you get there? Well, how about exploring those rugged badlands which made such an impression on TR, watching the wildlife while relaxing in the shade of a cottonwood tree, or spending your days hiking, fishing, boating or horseback riding (many would say the only way to really feel this country). You might even catch a glimpse of elk, bison, prairie dogs, golden eagles, wild horses, mule and white-tail deer. Whatever you decide to do on your visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, it’s sure to be a visit you’ll never forget.

See you there?

Don’t they all look well? It’s obviously a great place to live if you’re a horse, and a great place to visit if you’re not . . .
