Badlands National Park Images & Videos
Badlands National Park is home to some pretty amazing fossils – we’re not talking Great Grandmother, we’re talking fossilized remains of ancient horses, rhinos, saber-toothed cats – real animals which roamed the earth millions of years ago. Of course, there’s a good variety of animals still roaming in the Badlands National Park, this mixed grass prairie is protected and home to bison, deer, prairie dogs, bighorn sheep and even black footed ferrets (you’ll have to be quiet to spot one of those).
Badlands National Park isn’t bad for nothing, the weather has a wicked sense of humor for starters. You’d better dress in layers to cope with the unpredictable climate – summers are hot and dry (with the occasional thunderstorm), winters are very cold with lots of snow and the weather can change very quickly and without warning – told you it was bad! Take your hat, sunglasses and sunscreen in the summer, and plenty of water to drink.
