Capitol Reef National Park Operating Hours & Seasons
Capitol Reef National Park is open year round, as are the campgrounds. The visitor facilities are also open for the majority of the time.
The Capitol Reef National Park Visitor Center is open every day between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, with the closing time being extended to 6pm in the summer season. The visitor center does, however, close for major holidays – Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year.
The Ripple Rock Nature Center at Capitol Reef National Park is open only for limited days from Memorial Day through to Labor Day.
Gifford House is a historic house located around 1 mile south of the Visitor Center along the Scenic Drive. It’s open daily between the hours of 8am and 5pm serving delicious freshly baked pies, breads and pastries . . . yum yum!
Perhaps they were hoping for a few crumbs, although to be honest they seem to be quite happy with that fresh, juicy grass.
