Channel Islands National Park is made up of five islands, along with their remarkable ocean environment. The islands of Anacapa, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara and San Miguel have been isolated for thousands of years, creating a unique location filled with plants, animals and archaeological resources which are nowhere else on this earth. This really is a place where visitors can find out about the coastal area of Southern California from a bygone era. Of the 2000 or so species of plants and animals which thrive on Channel Islands National Park, 145 of them cannot be seen anywhere else. With a rich abundance of life both on land and in the surrounding oceans (the blue whale inhabits these waters) – a trip to Channel Islands National Park is a truly special occasion.
Channel Islands National Park has a pretty Mediterranean climate, so you can expect pretty stable temperatures throughout the year.
The dolphins seem to get in on all of the action don’t they . . .
