Crater Lake National Park is home to Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States (1,943 feet deep), in fact, it’s one of the ten deepest in the world. If scenery is your thing, then this place has it all. Picture this, a pure blue lake surrounded by sheer cliffs reaching two thousand feet into the sky, dotted with two of the most picturesque islands imaginable.
Crater Lake National Park well, more correctly, access to Crater Lake National Park is very much in the hands of the weather, the road to view the lake is sometimes closed in the winter time – so do check it out before you go. The snow usually first appears as early as October time, and often hangs around until well into the following summer – even as far as June. However, the snow isn’t all bad news at Crater Lake National Park, with ranger led snowshoe walks being a popular part of the program from Thanksgiving weekend right up until the beginning of May (on weekends).
Wrap up warm and have a great day at Crater Lake National Park.
