Dry Tortugas National Park Fees & Reservations

Entrance to Dry Tortugas National Park costs only $5 per person, and if you thought that was good how about this, that $5 covers your entrance fee for a full 7 days. This $5 charge also only applies to visitors who are 17 years of age or more.

Paying Entrance Fees to Dry Tortugas National Park

Currently these entry fees are collected on the Key West Seaplane Adventures and the Yankee Freedom Ferry. If you are exempt to paying these charges, ie you’ve got a National Parks Pass, Golden Age, Golden Eagle or Golden Access Passport then the price of the entrance fee will be simply deducted from your fare to the island.

Visitors who arrive at Dry Tortugas National Park by private boat should pay their entrance fees at the self service fee area which is situated on the main dock at Garden Key. Just a word of warning, credit cards cannot be accepted so make sure that you’ve got a little cash with you.

Dry Tortugas National Park Permits

Special Use Permits are in operation at the park and are necessary for short term activities which take place within the park and provide a benefit to either an individual, a group or an organization. Examples of activities which require a special use permit include;

weddings
privately owned seaplanes (not for hire)
group activities which have 20 or more participants
events like bike races etc
any activities organized by a non-profit organization

Camping at Dry Tortugas National Park

Camping is permitted at Dry Tortugas National Park, there is a self service fee area, it’ll cost you $3 per person, per night. If you’ve got a Golden Access or Golden Age pass then you’ll get a 50% discount. How cheap is that for a night on a paradise island? Woweee.

You’ve gotta’ pay all camping fees at the park and not on the ferry or the seaplane. Once again . . . no credit cards so make sure that you carry a little cash, and remember, there’s nowhere to buy supplies at Dry Tortugas National Park so whatever you’re gonna’ need you’d better take with you.
