Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve is open all year round, although services are severely limited in the winter – well, what do you expect, it is in Alaska you know?

The Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve Visitor Center is open every day between the end of May and early in September. The exhibits are open and available for 24 hours a day, but the bookstore and information desk is only manned between the hours of 11am and 9pm.

The Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve Visitor Information Station for Boaters and Campers is open during the following months, for the following hours;

  • May – Monday through Sunday between the hours of 8am and 5pm
  • June, July and August – Monday through Sunday between the hours of 7am and 9pm
  • September – Monday through Sunday between the hours of 8am and 5pm
This Visitor Information Station is located at Bartlett Cove, at the head of the dock for public use. It’s where visitors can get vital and important information about the park, plus permits and orientations for both boaters and campers using Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. The available facilities include potable water and public rest rooms, as well as containers for trash and recycling.
The Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve Office and Visitor Center
Located in Yakutat, this office is open everyday from May through to September.
