Directions to Virgin Islands National Park
Virgin Islands National Park is an island (the clue is in the name) which means that you can’t drive there, the only means of reaching the park is via the passenger and vehicle ferry service – unless you can walk on water.
Once you’ve reached St John, you’ll discover that the Virgin Islands National Park doesn’t actually have any designated entrances, there are a couple of major routes which will give access to most of the park. These are Route 20, aka the North Shore Road which runs directly from the ferry dock, on past the parks visitors center and to the closest areas of the park, which is incidentally where most of the beaches and campgrounds are located.
