It’s most famous for it’s waterfalls, but hey, in 1,200 square miles there’s lots of other stuff too – meadows, valleys, giant sequoia trees and a wilderness which seems to go on forever. If you think you might bump into Yosemite Sam you could be disappointed, but that’s the only thing which could ever be remotely disappointing on a trip to the wonderful Yosemite National Park. Whether you love to hike, climb, ski, ride horses, watch the wildlife, camp, boat, fish or anything else, there’s plenty of opportunity for you to have the time of your life. Just take a look at the photo – doesn’t that just include everything you could wish for when you’re getting away from it all, mountains, woodlands, meadows – unbelievable.
Yosemite National Park doesn’t have to take up lots of your time if you don’t have it available. There are some extremely picturesque, yet extremely easy hikes available. Paved trails which will only take a couple of hours of your time are extremely popular, but beware that some of them can be icy in the winter time. Ranging from half mile trails up to those of around 10 miles, there’s sure to be something to suit your time scale and capabilities. Everyone can enjoy the wonders of Yosemite National Park.
Summer time in Yosemite National Park is generally pretty warm and dry, but there is a risk of cloud build up which can happen very quickly, and you can soon find yourself engulfed so watch out. They also produce some rather spectacular thunderstorms so don’t forget your waterproofs. Winters are cold and some of the roads and trails are closed because of the snow. Check it out before you go.
